The Planning and Zoning Commission reviews and processes applications for zoning map and text amendments, new subdivision plats, residential and commercial development proposals, and prepares recommendations for the City Council. The Planning and Zoning Commission also reviews and recommends changes to the City’s Zoning Ordinance and the Comprehensive Plan. The Planning and Zoning Commission consists of nine members and three alternate members who are appointed by the City Council. The Commission holds regular meetings the 2nd Thursday of each month at 5:15 P.M. in the Council chambers at City Hall. These are public meetings and citizens are given an opportunity to voice their support or opposition to issues being considered.

How to commen t on an upcoming Agenda item:
Citizen may speak at the Commission meetings or may submit written comments related to an issue on the Commission’s Agenda. Written comments may be submitted by letter, FAX, or e-mail to the addresses shown below and must be received at the Planning Division before 1:00 PM on the day of the meeting to allow for copying and distribution to members. Correspondence, exhibits or other material received at the meeting will be included in the official record. You may bring your own copies of material to distribute to Commissioners and staff (suggest 15 copies). Please use the specified case number shown in the agenda to reference your written comments to the issue under consideration.
