The City of Jefferson has a residency requirement where full-time employees must reside within a 25 mile radius (25 Mile Radius Map) and 30 minutes of the City limits within 6 months of employment. Police and Fire Department personnel must reside within 25 miles and 30 minutes of the City limits within one year of employment. The City Administrator and Department Directors must reside within the City limits within 6 months of employment.

SUMMER EMPLOYMENT The Department of Parks, Recreation and Forestry seeks applications for seasonal positions including: leisure class instructors, aquatic facilities managers, substitute lifeguards, swim instructors; camp staff for: Camp Wokka Wokka, Binder Adventure Camp, Camp Eagle, and Fine Arts Camp; Friday Night Recreation/Special Olympics and Challenger Baseball attendant; adult slow pitch softball umpires; youth softball umpires; Start Smart baseball staff; tee-ball/coach pitch staff; athletic field supervisors; ice arena manager/assistant manager and facility supervisor; synchronized skating coaches; ice arena customer service attendants; skating instructors; and broomball officials. VETERINARY ASSISTANT - The Animal Rescue Division is accepting applications for a full-time Veterinary Assistant to provide custodial care of the shelter and animals, greet and assist the public with animal claims and adoptions, and assist the veterinarian. Must have computer skills; the ability to bend and stoop in awkward positions; lift and restrain 50-100 pound animals; animal husbandry; the ability to deal with the public; and assist the veterinarian with animal care, including euthanasia as required. Custodial or animal care experience desired. Will work Tuesday-Saturday 8AM-5PM. Will be expected to rotate holidays and work every fifth Sunday. Monthly salary is $2,102-$3,154, plus an outstanding benefits package including health, life and dental insurance, and paid vacation and sick leave. Application deadline is May 16.
Full-time personnel must reside within 25 miles and 30 minutes of the City limits within six months of hire, unless otherwise indicated.
