City Annouces Next Step toward Conference Center
On Thursday November 8, 2007 Mayor John Landwehr and Third Ward Councilman Brian Crane announced that the Conference Center Selection Committee has chosen (pending contract negotiations and City Council approval) Garfield Traub Development out of Dallas Texas to lead the City through a pre-development feasibility process. The pre-development feasibility process will perform a hotel market study, project a preliminary budget, estimate the amount of available private financing, and determine other possible public funding sources for City participation. At the completion of the pre-development feasibility study the City will have a valuable tool to help determine the viability of the project, as well as, have a better understanding of the costs and benefits associated with such a project.
