The following guidelines will be used in determining spotlight performances in the 45th Annual Ice Show:
- Tryouts will be held Sunday, January 6, 2008, from 8 a.m. - noon.
- Individuals wishing to tryout for a spotlight performance must have passed the ISI Freestyle 4 test. Individuals can only skate in one spotlight number.
- Guidelines apply for solos, pairs, duets and small groups.
- Length of program must be 1 minute 45 seconds regardless of the skater’s ISI level.
- Music must be edited on a CD for the tryout and must be the music the skater wishes to skate to in the Ice Show. All music must be in accordance with the theme of the show. Check with the Skating Director for eligibility of songs. Music cutting service is available at the ice arena. Ask the Skating Director for details.
- Attendance at time specified for tryout is mandatory. If a prospective participant is not ready to skate at the time specified with prepared music, the skater forfeits his/her tryout. There will be no exceptions.
- Each program will be judged on a 10 point scale on each of the following: creativity/originality, entertainment quality, musical interpretation, rhythm, variety of moves, duration, participation, and general overall.
- 12 numbers will be chosen.
- Participants must be enrolled in all sessions of advanced programs and/or be an instructor in good standing in the Parks and Recreation lesson program for the entire 2007-2008 season to be eligible to tryout.
- Applications and detailed guidelines for a tryout will be available at the Ice Arena, November 15, 2007. Applications are due December 14 by 5 p.m., and must be turned in to the Skating Director.
- Group numbers for the Ice Show are organized by instructors. Sign-up for group number participation will be held during your lesson time the third session of lessons.
